A Mother's Gift
A father will mentor his child to reach goals,
But a mother, by nature, inclines toward the soul.
True essence of life easily missed in the living;
Found not in doing or getting, nor in giving, receiving.
An endowment of soulfulness had by believing.
Believing that life in its darkness and beauty,
Evokes mysteries eternal - to inspire is her duty.
Not to answer, but question.
Not to find, but to seek.
Not to conquer, but strive.
Not to have, but to reach.
A mother knows well this is what she must teach.
For the child born of her womb is her most precious gift.
To be nurtured on Earth, then toward Heaven to lift.
Her reward staring back to her through her child's eyes -
Oh! Windows of the soul, which cannot be disguised
Looking out full of life
Aware! Realized!

TURN
TURN
Day break sneaks in when you're facing due north.
From the east it creeps slowly, casting haze on the shore.
The west lies in darkness, stars still shine in those skies,
But to stay facing the north, you get half and half lies.
Like life when you focus on just what lies straight ahead,
You're blind - sided when things sneak up on your left.
But there on the right things look just as they should.
Your question is in which direction to turn for your good.
But oh! before midnight when everything is fine
Like Cinderella you dance for the clock has'nt yet chimed.
That's when life's perfect, so enjoy and drink deep!
Yes, dance and enjoy--the sun will soon rise in the east!
Now, choose right or choose left,
Choose right or choose wrong.
The gift is in the choosing which course to head on.
A fool with his head in the sand never learned.
That any path worth pursuing requires that you turn.

The Way Home
The Way Home
Each year we return to this place
we know as home.
Bearing the fruits of our labors,
the joys and pains of our pursuits.
Here we rest, we share,
we heal, we thrive.
Here spirits soar, souls dance!
In magical wonder we make up for the lost time.
A celebration of life!
Cups filled to overflowing--
A cornucopia of love!
And in our joy, time stands still.
And we behold the greatest gift of all.
One another.
